I absolutely love this author... never fails me!!
Fabulous book!! this is about a couple who have known each other since childhood... Hudson use to pick on Riley until Riley's mother approached Hudson and asked him to protect her instead of pick on her... so that is what he did - all her life! She also was Hudson's little sisters bff, so she was at their house all the time and Riley always wanted Hudson's attention and he never failed to give it to her... as they got older, it was harder and harder to resist Riley. the age difference was just 3 or 4 years so he watched her become young adult and how he hated those teenage years, he kept the boys away until he went to college and then he worried all the time..
Hudson was Riley's first kiss, because she wanted him to teach her to kiss... oh dear!!!
when Hudson goes to college he never stops thinking of Riley and Riley always loves Hudson..
they finally admit their love for one another when Riley is set to go off to college, but Hudson has a girlfriend, whom he doesn't want..
and that one night is the best and worst night of all their lives... so much pain, drama, lies, love, and finally truth...
this is a must read... I finished in one day.. was great!!

How do I begin to write a review for a book that was so wonderful? I cannot find any words that will do it justice. Do you know what kind of book I'm talking about? It's the kind that causes the lump to appear in the back of your throat making it difficult to swallow, the kind of book that makes you get up and pace because you're nervous only to sit back down 10 seconds later because you're dying to know what happens. JS Cooper delivers a book filed with drama, love, angst, and all the other emotions that I'm still reeling from.
In the beginning we are introduced to Hudson and Riley where we learn about the things Hudson did to Riley when they were children. It's your typical older boy picking on younger girl behavior. As the story unfolds we learn that Riley is best friends with Eden who happens to be Hudson's younger sister. Instantly I thought that this was going to be a book where the girl falls in love with the best friend's older brother and best friend gets mad type of book. Needless to say it didn't go that exact way. We follow Hudson and Riley through the years. Hudson enrolls in college and Riley is still in High school. While Riley has a crush on Hudson he has a girlfriend in college. Since Riley and Eden are friends, Riley still has contact with Hudson and she finds herself on vacation with Hudson. On the last day of summer vacation as something beautiful is happening a tragedy occurs. Who is responsible? Now Hudson and Riley are left to deal with the aftermath. Riley enrolls in college and decides to write an article for the college newspaper while Hudson is trying to help his girlfriend's mom and the neighbors. As far would have it, they run into each other again. Each of them are still holding on to secrets from the past. Can these two escape the past and be together or will another tragedy end it all? This book is definitely worth all 5 stars and worth the journey. HAPPY READING!!! Thank you JS Cooper for another amazing book!!!
This was a sweet story about falling in love with your soul mate and reconnecting. Riley has been best friends with Hudson's younger sister, Eden, since they were small kids. Through the years, he watched her grow and become a beautiful girl. He feels guilty because of the feelings he has towards her since he's several years older and because of Riley's relationship with his sister. He doesn't know that Riley feels the same way about him. Hudson was her first kiss and she wants him to be her first lover. What should have been the most most memorable night of their life turns tragic. Can they overlook their guilt and make their relationship work?

I adored Hudson. He was so sweet and gentle with Riley. It was obvious he loved and cared for her. Riley is a little immature in the first half of the book, but her character grows on me towards the end. You can't help but want the two of them together. The secondary characters, Eden and Luke (Hudson's best friend) were okay. I really didn't care for either, especially Luke.

I really didn't thing the underground fight storyline was necessary and helped the book. Channing was crazy and we never find out if he goes to jail. We also don't find out if Luke won the fight or how he did.

But overall, the book was good. I love that it was told from both Hudson's and Riley's POVs. It's a stand alone and has a happy ending.
This was probably my favorite Jaimie books. The entire story line was amazing and so sweet. It would of been a five star if a couple things were cleared up for me. But I am hoping that there will be more and my questions will be answered! I could see more and I want it!! All in all it was one of my favorites and Jaimie surprises me every time she writes a book. Very proud. Could not put it down once I picked it up!

At the start we meet little Riley and little Hudson. Hudson always picked on her and her mom asked if he could look out for her instead of tease her. Riley became best friends with Hudson's sister and they were inseparable. Little did they both know the feelings they had for each other. They both tried to hide them the older they got. And suddenly on one visit to the cottage they could not help their feelings. Little did they know their world would forever be different from that night on out. Things would never be the same and their chance a future may of slipped through their fingers. Will they be able to get that love back, can they both move on and forget. Or will their past demons get in the way of their happiness?
Well you will have to read to find out! But I promise, you will not be disappointed. It was AMAZING and one of Jaimie's best yet. I loved Hudson and loved all the characters! I truly hope for more -)
