So I given this book to give an honest review.

First let me start off with this book is free on Amazon right now. Not sure if it is perma free or not but check it out. Second I love the cover, high heels and hay bales it has to be good.

So we are introduced to Roxie who is your normal teenager, though her world goes upside down when she has to live with her Grandma. Roxie came across as a very rude and spoiled character. I mean when a guy bares his heart to you and yet you still cry and yell and run away something is wrong with you.
I really did enjoy the whole story! I thought it was well written and the characters well developed.
I really liked how this author did not over do the whole kissing scenes even though it would seem it could get a bit heavy it didn't.
We see how Roxie gets to grow up and get a dose of how life is somewhere else she realizes the person she is, is not the person she wants to become so we get to see her grow later on.
Chase oh poor Chase he has had it rough but yet Roxie's grandma has always been there for him. Which makes Grandma so sweet and kind. Chase is a stubborn guy because he kept letting Roxie hurt him with words and running away, though yet kept coming back.
Now Grandma I really like how she was hard working and so kind and giving. It broke my heart to see Roxie treat her mean though she never gave up on Roxie.
I did want more back story on why Roxie's mom never had her mom really be in her life. I felt there was a story there that just sat under the surface that needed to be opened.
Overall a really good book.

Knotted Roots edition by Ruthi Kight MaryAnn Inabinet Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I've heard about this book for awhile now. I kept seeing the excerpts for it all over the place and was thinking I gotta check this book out. Now months later I finally sit down to read it and my first thought is damn what took me so long.

Roxie is sent to spend the Summer before her senior year in some podunk town in South Carolina with her Grandma Betty. Roxie who comes off throughout the beginning as a spoiled rich kids thinks this is some sort of punishment. She doesn't even know this lady and as far as Roxie is concerned Grandma Betty abandoned them a long time ago. I feel sorry for Roxie because I know how angry she is with her parents over this but at the same time I also feel sorry for Betty cause Roxie doesn't really give her a chance in the beginning. She's a brat!!!

Chase (swoon worthy) and his brother Brian are "honorary" members of Grandma Betty's family. Due to something that happened in their past she is very protective of them. This causes problems for her relationship with Roxie at times who feels that her Grandmother is choosing Chase over her. Chase is attracted to Roxie from the beginning but she doesn't make it easy.

I laughed, cried, cheered, and yelled while reading this book. At times Roxie made me so frustrated I just wanted to shake her and tell her it's time to grow up and put your big girl panties on already!!!! What's life without a few chances and that's something that Roxie needs to learn. Will she learn to take those chances with Grandma Betty, Chase, Brian, and her neighbor Katy?

I originally received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. After reading it though and experiencing so much emotion and passion for the characters and their stories I had to go out and purchase it. This a must read for all book lovers out there. Thank you Ruthi Knight for such a refreshing and wonderful read. Congrats to you on writing one of the best debut YA novels I've read in a long time. I look forward to reading more from you.
I absolutly loved this book! This book is full of endearing moments, great laughs and most of all some wonderful lesson's on life. Once you open it up and start reading the first page, you find yourself reading the last page. Ruthi Kight has did it people. She has given us a wonderful book full of magic, without having
any magic involved )

Roxie, a very spoiled brat from the city has to go spend a summer on a farm with her grandmother. I must tell you though, she has never even met this grandmother. Rut Roh! Before up rooting however, she is hit with heartaches from her parents and friends. Kight has gave us beautiful description, flawless flow of story line. The only thing I will tell you for sure, is I wanted to choke Roxie over and over but loved her. Loved Grandma, and adored Chase! The Author even went close to the boarder of making me blush! The banter between Roxie and Chase was perfect, edgy and kept me wanting so much more. Chase, even
with turmoil of his own was a wonderful loving character. Another thing I adored about this Author, was the description of details. I so want to live on the farm. We all know how I LOVE cowboys!!!!! Someone grab me a pitchfork PLEASE!!!

Now ask yourself this, Can you replace name brand clothes and handbags with coveralls and still be happy? What about trading your expensive heals for crapper boots? Will the smell of cow manure be better then city air? The important question is, does Roxie stay or go? Does she choose to stay with her Grandma and Chase? Or does she return to her city life. Did I mention a tragic sadness that hits Roxie. Well then I guess you know what to do...READ THIS BOOK

A beautifully written love story with emotions, trials and tons of wisdom. A book about hope and promise if you can change the way of life as you know it. A starvation for love. Well done Ruthi Kight, please tell me there is another.
